Friends of BARC, Inc. is a non-profit corporation that supports the humane care and treatment of he animals in the City of Houston Bureau of Animal Regulation and Care (BARC). Our volunteers staff off site adoption programs at four area Petsmart stores (610/59, Westheimer, Wallisville, and 290/NW Fwy) every Saturday from 10:30 AM ro 4PM. The 610/59 store has adoptions on Saturday and Sundays. Please visit one of these locations to adopt a new member for your family!
We provide nutritious food for the kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs in the City’s adoption program. We also fund spay/neuter surgeries, as well as the purchase of medications, test kits, and other veterinary supplies, as needed.
To help address the ongoing problem of pet overpopulation, Friends of BARC also educates the community about the importance of spaying and neutering, as well as supports spay and neuter programs.
Friends of BARC is a 501 (c)(3) organization. Your donations are deductible to the extent allowed by law, and we will be happy to send you a written receipt for tax purposes.
